At the pub l ic library, and in the lounge o f the Jewish Center, Jewish
book exh ib its were he ld beg inn ing Friday evening, November 19th through
November 30th.
Books were also borrowed from private libraries o f local residents. About
a dozen etchings o f Jewish characters were furnished by the Halevi Art
Associates.
Other programs arranged dur ing Book Week included a sermon on Jewish
literature by Rabbi David J. Seligson at the Friday N igh t Service; a Joint
Assembly o f the Hebrew and Sunday Schools, dedicated to Jewish Book
Week; educat ional trips by club members to the libraries of the Jewish
Theo log ica l Seminary and Yeshivah College; reading and reviews of Jewish
books and the making o f Jewish book marks at club meetings; and dis-
cussions o f “T h e Jew as Mirrored in Literature” by George Ende at the
meet ing of the Zionist District, and o f “Books and Civilization” by Dr. Israel
H. Levin at the month ly gathering o f the Parent-Teachers Association.
