of a Jewish literary annual in America.
Jewish life is destined to survive in this democracy. Whether it
will flower into a rich cultural and, therefore, highly gratifying life
depends on the keepers of the garden. The Jewish Book Council,
on the eve of the fourth century of Jewish settlement, pledges itself
to sow and plant, to water and to nurture, to love and to care.
