American Library Association Exhibit
The Council arranged an exhibit booth at the annual con­
vention of the American Library Association which was held
June 28-July 2, 1964, in St. Louis. The Jewish Community
Centers Association of St. Louis assumed responsibility for the
local arrangements and appointed a committee under the chair­
manship of Mrs. D. Silbergeld. The exhibit was viewed by
thousands of librarians.
Library Citations
The Council granted citations of merit to fourteen libraries
of Jewish Community Centers and synagogues which met the
minimum requirements for a Jewish library according to a plan
of certification adopted by the Council. A total of 162 libraries
of Jewish Community Centers, Jewish schools, synagogues, Hillel
Foundations, and other agencies have been awarded the citations.
