JEWISH BOOK M O N T H
Jewish Book Month was celebrated from November 12th to
December 12th, 1976. Its theme was: T he Jewish Book in
America: A Bicentennial Celebration. The reports which flowed
into our office stressed not only the usual activities of exhibits,
lectures, seminars, discussions, reviews, author sessions, radio
broadcasts and book fairs bu t bespoke also a renewed concern on
the part of many other organizations to join in with the Council.
T he Association of Jewish Publishers and the Israeli Book
Publishers aided in the dissemination and expansion of this
singular instrument to bring Jewish books into the homes and
libraries and foster our Jewish heritage and tradition.
T he theme for 1977 is “Find Yourself Through Jewish Books.”
The dates of the future celebrations of Jewish Book Month are:
November 4th to December 4th, 1977; November 24th to Decem
ber 24th, 1978.
