tion. The criteria are: the employment of a librarian; a fixed
annual budget; a minimum of 1,000 volumes of Jewish interest;
acquisition of 100 additional titles each year; an accessible
catalog; adequate library quarters; and the conduct of Jewish
Book Month programs.
The members of the Library Committee, Dr. Abraham Ber-
ger, Dr. Isidore S. Meyer, Dr. Menahem Schmelzer and Philip
E. Miller, met under the chairmanship of Dr. Leonard S. Gold,
to choose the following as this year’s awardees:
1) Library of the B’nai Brith Hillel Foundation of St. Louis
Missouri
2) Brith Achim Library, Petersburg, Virginia
3) Alex Weisberg Library, Temple Emanu El, Dallas, Texas
4) Joseph Dean Wolar Library, Temple Beth Abraham, Tar-
rytown, New York
5) Temple Ramat Zion Library, Northridge, California
