kits consisted of posters and bookmarks for adults and children,
and other items. The general interest poster was designed by
Leonard Everett Fisher and the ch ildren’s poster by Cara
Goldberg Marks. Both bookmarks displayed the poster in minia
ture and contained an annotated list of current books. The chil
dren’s bookmark was prepared by Rita Frischer, librarian, Sinai
Temple, Los Angeles, CalifQrnia, and the adult bookmark by
Sylvia Firscheim, librarian, YM&YWHA of North Jersey. Public
library systems in Los Angeles, Dade County, Florida, New York
City and Columbus, Ohio, purchased posters for distribution to
their branch libraries. A window display in the Scribner’s Book
Store on Fifth Avenue, November 20 to November 27, featured
books of Jewish interest together with our two posters. The
Philadelphia Jewish Exponent used a color reproduction of the
children’s poster on its front cover for Jewish Book Month.
