A survey to update information on the more than 250 libraries
which have received library citations was undertaken by Dr.
Marcia Posner. To date, more than 190 responses have been
received, and the data is being processed.
National Jewish Book Awards Ceremony
Blu Greenberg, president o f the Council, presided at the
National Jewish Book Awards Ceremony which was held
Thursday, May 17, in the Trustees Room o f the New York Public
Library. The use o f this facility was made possible by a grant from
the Henry and Edith Everett Foundation. A preliminary recep­
tion was held for the award-winning authors, judges, donors and
librarians participating in the ceremony. Arthur A. Cohen,
author o f
An Admirable Woman
(Godine), winner o f the Fiction
award, was the guest speaker. The award-winning books were
sold by J. Levine Company at the reception following the cere­
mony and were autographed by the authors.
The members o f the 1984 Awards ceremony committee were:
Joy Wouk, chairperson, Gerrard Berman, Eve F. Roshevsky,
Julius Schatz, and Ellen Scheinfeld.
