M A R K ----AMONG RECENT YIDDISH BOOKS
write for children, there appeared Falik Katowski’s
Kleinwarg
(Small Fry).
The books listed here were published from June 1945 to June
1946. Although at the beginning of this review it was stated that
this year was not too fruitful for Yiddish literature, the imposing
array of works that were published are adequate cause for satis-
faction. I t is possible that a few books deserving mention were
overlooked. In conclusion may I say that it is difficult for anyone
estranged from literary works in Yiddish to follow the develop-
ment of Jewish creative spirit and social thought and to know
what transpires among Jews.
