semination so that we can join in paying tribute to our brethren
in Israel.
Again it is my privilege to express publicly the gratitude of
the Jewish Book Council to those who have made possible this
publication: first and foremost — the contributors of articles; the
editors of the English, Hebrew and Yiddish Sections — Abraham
G. Duker, Dr. Pinkhos Churgin, and Moshe Starkman, respec-
tively; the managing editor — Philip Goodman; and, last but not
least, the National Jewish Welfare Board, its distinguished presi-
dent, Frank L. Weil, and its energetic executive director, Samuel
D. Gershovitz, for their ready cooperation and fine support.

the cooperation of all those into whose hands this volume falls.

not a pleasure, to help us spread the Jewish book.
